The International School of Panama operates under the license of the Ministry of Education of Panama and is accredited by AdvancED. Position Summary



The primary function of a Spanish teacher at the International School of Panama is to facilitate the student learning process and create productive environments in which students can develop skills they might need at present or in the future.  He or she provides classroom learning opportunities for students and assists in other school programs, working harmoniously with the administrative staff and parents in support of the ISP Teaching Philosophy, school policy, regulations, objectives, and goals. The language of instruction for this position is Spanish, while the language of communication in the school is English.

ISP is committed to the health, safety, and well-being of its students and staff.  ISP also expects staff to comply with its policy and procedures that relate to statutory requirements and best practices outlined but not limited to the ISP Staff Handbook.  Of particular importance are the policies related to Child Protection and Inclusion and Diversity.  Appointees are accountable for completing available training on these matters and ensuring that their knowledge, and the knowledge of their staff, is up to date.

Key Selection Criteria and Competencies



    Essentials:




    1. At least 2 years of experience in a relevant subject area or grade level

 

    1. Bachelor or Master Degree in a relevant subject area with teaching experience as per above

 

    1. High levels of Spanish and English proficiency

 

    1. Cross-cultural sensitivity and an international mindset




Desirables:




    • Exposure to a multicultural environment.

 

    • Experience with ERP (RENWEB, Microsoft Dynamics, Google Drive, etc.)

 

    • Previous experience in an international school is desirable
