Your role as an External Sales Engineer Diesel is to develop the Diesel power generation (internal combustion engines) business within your assigned region and to meet our business goals. The region covered by this position is: Central America (including Panamá), Colombia and Ecuador.
By understanding customer needs and recognizing new business opportunities, you are successful in expanding our customer base and in growing our share at existing customers. Always with the aim to support our customers in optimizing their processes, with the vision of being their preferred life cycle ally. You do this by combining a profound understanding of applications, products & systems in Diesel power plants, and Alfa Laval technologies, such as separation, heat transfer and fluid handling.
Your customer group includes Diesel power plants, engineering companies and contractors, among others. Speaking partners may vary from plant manager, operation / maintenance manager, purchase manager and project engineers, to operators, maintenance engineers and purchasers.
Engineering degree (preferably mechanical, naval or chemical / process engineering).
Commercial mind set / technical sales predilection.
Knowledge of the Diesel power and/or maritime industry (preferred).
Customer oriented and can build long-lasting customer relationships, at all levels.
Results driven and creative.
Energetic and a flexible team player that wants to contribute to the team’s and organization´s success.
Can work strategically and with minimum supervision.
Fluent in English and Spanish, both spoken and writing.
This position will be based in Bogotá, Colombia or Panamá City.
The position will report to the Service Sales Manager.
Availability to travel within the region mentioned above, 70% of the time
