· Supervise employees performing financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, credit control, accounts payable
· Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures. Ensure adherence to group procedures,
· Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, country policies, and current accounting standards
· Prepare and direct preparation of all financial reporting, including all monthly group reporting, forecasting, budgeting, business activity reports or reports required by regulatory agencies.
· Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
· Oversee the accounting operations of other divisions/locations which form part of the Panama or Americas business, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures
· Issue timely and complete financial reporting both internal and external
· Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics, benchmarks, KPIs
· Ensure monthly balance sheet reconciliations are clean, supportable and will withstand audit scrutiny
· Cashflow forecasting, maximisation and management of working capital
· Comply with local government reporting requirements and tax filings
· Manage foreign currency hedging if required
· Assist in management of the production of the annual budget and monthly forecasts
· Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
· Correct inventory valuation and manage bi-annual physical inventory count
· Liaison with external auditors, tax compliance professionals
· Continuous improvement of processes, procedures
Education/Experience:
· Minimum Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
· Minimum 2 years’ experience as a finance manager or financial controller
· Certified Public Accountant (preferred / not mandatory)
