Tipo de puesto:

ISP is a non-profit, student-centered, independent school, inspiring lifelong learners for a future without borders. We are recognized as a leader in international education, offering world-class opportunities for students since 3 years old at Early Childhood Center to 12th grade.

The International School of Panama operates under the license of the Ministry of Education of Panama and is accredited by AdvancED. As an authorized IB World School, we offer the International Baccalaureate Program (IB) for students in grades 11 and 12.  In addition, we offer the unique Innovation and Entrepreneurship Certificate and AdvancED certified STEM programs.

We are a community of approximately 340 high school students (grades 9, 10, 11, and 12), fifty-plus faculty and staff members, and several hundred parents. Though a rigorous and engaging academic program sits at the core of the ISP high school experience – the arts, athletics, and service are also central to our program. The foundation that all of this is built upon is a shared belief that the most important thing that we do on this campus is take care of one another.

We are very proud of the work, the learning, and the teaching we do together – and also quite humbled by the caliber of people we get to do it all with (on such a beautiful campus). We are all learning, growing, contributing, and finding (and fine-tuning) our passions in life. Students, faculty, and parents/families included.

The High School Faculty

Our high school faculty is a mix of ISP founders and veterans who’ve been dedicated to ISP for 20 years, 25 years, or longer – along with many teachers who are relatively new to the school and bring experiences with them from all over the world. Our teaching staff is from the US, Canada, the UK/Europe, Panama, and other parts of Latin America.

High School Theater & Film

The drama and film programs are electives. In theater, students work on ensemble skills, developing performances based on text or devised work, and exploring theater from around the world through research and practice. Building on the work of our popular Middle School drama program, these courses are designed to provide students with a broad experience of theater and drama in different forms, providing them with the skills to move into IBDP Theater should they desire, and if not, giving them a well-rounded arts experience. Students have opportunities to perform in front of audiences and are also able to develop technical and production skills in our fully equipped black box studio and 500 seater theater. In film, students benefit from our excellent resources including cameras, green screen and digital editing facilities, as well as a thriving local film community. At present IB DP film is offered as an online course.

IB Theater (co-teaching)

Theater is offered to all IB students in Group 6 at ISP. Students explore theater in context, presentation, and the process of making theater. Students use theater as a platform to express themselves as performers, designers, directors, and creators. This class would be co-taught with the Director of VAPA.

ES Drama

This is a new aspect of the drama teacher role at ISP, exploring options for building drama into grade level units of work, with a view to helping develop a complete programme of ES drama in the coming years.
